Teej, a 3-day festival starting on 27th July this year, celebrates the reunion of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. On this day, the ladies take out a colorful procession carrying the Goddess Teej Mata dressed in a colorful sari. Women pray to the goddess seeking good health for their husband and they also sing during the procession which ends at Kanak Vrindavan. It is a vibrant and colorful sight in Jaipur as the place is decorated and lit up in the evening. Swings in private and public gardens are decorated with flowers. Incidentally, the festival of Teej is also celebrated in Nepal.

The Teej procession has camels, dancing folk artists, royal palanquins, chariots and bullock carts. It starts from the City Palace, winding its way through Tripolia Bazaar and Chhoti Chaupar and finally ends at Kanak Vrindavan. The Rajasthani sweet dish Ghewar is made during this festival.
